Throughout your career you will experience numerous opportunities where your work performance will be evaluated. Organized corporations and structured businesses use the formal, scheduled employee performance review as an opportunity to review a team member’s performance to stated performance objectives. Strong leaders and supervisors use the performance review as a chance to focus the employee on actions that are important to the performance of the team and to cite extraordinary performance of the employee to stated corporate objectives.
In 1997 Russ Green participated in such a review of his work as the leader of a marketing organization. This video describing the origin and development of the “9-Word Speech” is a result of such a performance review.
